Fascial Manipulation®

Fascial Manipulation® is an effective soft tissue manual therapy method generally used for myofascial pain and dysfunction, locomotor problems and internal dysfunctions. Fascial Manipulation® Specialists pay attention to the detailed information about the patient’s medical history, lifestyle, previous injuries/traumas, surgeries, fractures, internal dysfunctions etc. to identify and address the root cause of pain and dysfunction. Localized or global compensations can cause an altered perception of body position/movement, motor coordination and distribution of load on myofascial structures and joints, and may increase the risk of injury, pain, and further dysfunctions. The individualized precision of this method helps to restore the biomechanics of the fascial system, and to provide realistic long-lasting results and even to prevent further injuries.

At Village Physiotherapy, we have a specialist trained in Fascial Manipulation®, that can effectively treat and manage a variety of conditions that stem from or affect the fascial system. This approach not only addresses symptoms but also targets the underlying causes of discomfort and dysfunction, offering patients a pathway to improved health and mobility.

Concussion and Vestibular Rehabilitation

At Village Physiotherapy, we specialize in the assessment and treatment of concussion-related symptoms and vestibular disorders, including Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), the most common inner ear disorder causing vertigo.

Concussion Rehabilitation
A concussion is a traumatic brain injury that can disrupt normal brain function, often resulting in headaches, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties. Our concussion rehabilitation process begins with a comprehensive assessment to determine the injury's severity and impact. We create personalized treatment plans that may include manual therapy, vestibular exercises, and cognitive rehabilitation to address physical and mental symptoms. Our evidence-based approach includes closely monitored return-to-activity programs, ensuring a safe and effective recovery for our patients.

Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to address symptoms associated with vestibular system disorders, which affect balance and spatial orientation. The vestibular system is located in the inner ear and plays a critical role in helping maintain equilibrium and coordinating eye and head movements. Dysfunction in this system can lead to issues like dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, and nausea.

A common condition treated with vestibular rehabilitation is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). BPPV occurs when tiny crystals in the inner ear become dislodged, leading to vertigo and balance issues triggered by head movements. BPPV can be very disruptive to daily life, causing difficulty with routine tasks and mobility. At Village Physiotherapy, we recognize the need for timely, professional, caring, and supportive treatment to help patients recover and regain their function.

Using Gold Standard Infrared Goggles, we provide precise vestibular assessments to reveal critical eye movements invisible in regular light. Diagnosis involves simple bedside tests, and treatment typically includes repositioning maneuvers like the Dix-Hallpike, which can resolve most cases within 1-3 sessions. Additional vestibular and balance exercises may also be provided to support long-term recovery.

Our goal is to provide expert, patient-centered care that minimizes symptoms, restores function, and helps you return to your daily life with confidence. Whether recovering from a concussion or managing vestibular conditions, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.
